What is a Dental Veneer?
Veneers are quite thin pieces of tooth-shaped porcelain that are created to match the colour and shape of your teeth. These cosmetic restorations are created in a dental laboratory and custom-crafted for your smile.
At Dr. Daniel Mahler Dentistry, we use veneers to create a more uniform smile for our patients. Your dentist bonds the restoration to the front of your natural tooth to change the symmetry, shape or colour of your smile.
Veneers can be used to alter the look of your smile when your teeth are discoloured, gapped, worn, uneven or crooked.
How Veneers Work
Dr. Mahler will take an impression of your teeth using our intraoral scanning technology that will be used to create veneers that are customized to your smile.
Once your veneers have been made, they will be bonded to the fronts of your natural teeth.
Made from a razor-thin piece of porcelain, veneers are custom-shaped to match your tooth. The porcelain imitates the natural translucency of tooth enamel and has a very natural look and feel.
Features of Veneers
If you are looking to alter the shape of individual teeth or the evenness of your whole smile, you may want to consider dental veneers as a less-intrusive alternative to dental crowns.
Conditions that dental veneers can resolve include worn, crooked, or discoloured teeth.
If properly cared for, dental veneers can last for many years in your smile before they require replacement.
