What is Restorative Dental Care?
While we advise that our patients take steps to prevent health issues from arising in the first place by using oral hygiene care at home and relying on mouth guards at times where impact around your mouth is possible, we know it is not always possible to prevent every oral health issue.
Restorative dental services include any procedures that aim to restore the regular health, function and appearance of your smile.
By repairing the structural issues affecting your smile like damaged or missing teeth, our dental team can help restore both your smile and your oral health.
Depending on your issue, Dr. Daniel Mahler will determine the right restorative treatment option for you.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are porcelain caps that are placed on top of your teeth to restore their appearance and their regular function.
Crowns can be used to cover dental implants, attach bridges, or prevent a cracked tooth from growing worse. They can help restore a discoloured or stained tooth to a more natural appearance.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that bond to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth.
Since bridges are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of your bite between your upper and lower sets of teeth.
Root Canals
Root canals are procedures where your dentist removes diseased blood vessels, tissues and nerves from the interior of a damaged or infected tooth.
By the removal of bacteria and decay, your dentist will be able to help to halt the spread of infection and prevent the need for extraction of the tooth.
Dental Fillings
At Dr. Daniel Mahler Dentistry, we use composite (tooth-coloured) fillings to repair a cavity or tooth damage, like a crack. These fillings can withstand moderate pressure from the constant stress of chewing and can be used on front and back teeth.
